I. My Accomplishment

One of the major challenges of teaching is that you cannot choose your students as well as they cannot choose their teachers. My critique teacher was not around for three consecutive days. Moreover, I was given the chance to observe the 3 substitute teachers of Mrs. Jayrerose Guevara as a preparation for my rated demonstration this coming Tuesday. I was given the chance to become a facilitator of the 4 sections of fourth years regular from morning till afternoon since the substitute teacher needs to move out from the classroom because of emergency meetings .I was also shocked when my critique teacher told me to prepare a lesson plan and she will check it after lunch. It was a blessing for me to plan and prepare my lesson plan for this coming week with a longer span of time. It is indeed a very though experience to discipline the students and remind them every minute about their noise and most of them listened.

II. My Significant Experience
My significant experience for this week was to be able meet my critique teacher and to be able to observe the different techniques, strategies in teaching students from the substitute teachers. It was also a significant experience for me to be able to find out the expectations of my students for my rated demonstration. I was also given the chance to introduce myself per section which gave me an idea what kind of students I will be handling all throughout. I also consider as a significant experience to become aware that I will be handling 2 students that has a special needs which inspired me to exert more effort every time I will deliver a lesson.

III. My Insights
Choosing Education as my course is not an easy task to do, because this course changes my entire perspective in life. For me, teaching is indeed a commitment that most of us were chosen to be in this profession. I can now say that teaching is really my best choice. However, to be a teacher we must flexible in everything we do and must be willing to accept whatever tasks they will be giving. May I quote the words of my teacher in high school days, “Go out and learn from the world for corners of the classroom were not enough to learn from”. This will be a challenge that I need to go through that is to deliver a lesson inclusive for all students specially that I will be handling two students with special needs and I consider it as a challenge and at the same time a blessing.

III. Problem
I am not saying that I consider my 2 students with special needs as a problem. Since, I observed that they can cope up with the lesson easily. For me, my problem would now fall into preparing my lesson plan and instructional materials inclusive for all. It will be very challenging on my part to teach them because I have no background in sign language though I have already finished my Educ. 101 subject which is Inclusive Education.

IV. Solution
As a solution for my difficulty in preparing my lesson plan and instructional materials inclusive for all I can ask the help and guidance of my critique teacher about the strategies, techniques that she used in teaching them. As well as I could surf the internet for teaching procedures that I can innovate and use it inside the classroom.

V. Goals for next week
My goal for next week is to have my rated demonstration so that I can finish my lessons on time.
